After losing marginally in early trade today, the Indian rupee managed to recover by seven paise to 46.14 against the dollar helped by a bounce back in equity markets.
At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the domestic currency resumed steady at 46.21/22 per dollar and moved in a range of 46.14 per dollar and 46.24 before quoting at 46.16/17 per dollar.
Forex dealers attributed further rise in the rupee value to equities as the Indian benchmark index recovered from early losses.
The BSE benchmark sensex resumed lower at 16,213.14 and moved in a range of 16,300.75 and 16,178.91 before quoting at 16,282.35 at 1015 hours, showing a rise of 45.30 points or 0.28 per cent from its previous close.
