Samkrg Pistons and Rings, the manufacturer of pistons and ring assemblies for auto industrry, has recorded a net profit of Rs 4.56 crore on a sales of Rs 58.71 crore for the fiscal 2002-03 as against a net profit of Rs 4.97 crore on a sales of Rs 52.89 crore in the preceding year. On an equity base of Rs 9.82 crore, it works out an earnings per share of Rs 4.65.
Though the gross profit is more at Rs 14.84 crore for the year compared with that of Rs 12.97 crore in the preceding year, net profit stood at a lower level due to higher provision for depreciation and taxation. Exports were at Rs 5.37 crore for the year, as against the previous year's Rs 1 crore.
Exports are mainly to Europe, US and Australia. Fourth quarter had export sales of Rs 2.23 crore.
