Federation of Karnataka Lorry Owner’s and Agents Association (FKSLOA) today set a fortnight’s deadline to the state government to solve the problems faced by sand transporters.

The government has suspended issuing of permits to transport sand for the past three months causing hardship to sand transporters, Federation president G R Shanmugappa told reporters here.

He also sought an end to “police, RTO harassment” in issuing permits.

If government failed to find a solution within 15 days, the Federation would go on strike, he added.
