Satpura thermal power unit to be upgraded

Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Company, an arm of the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board, has planned to upgrade two units of its Satpura thermal power station with an investment of Rs 2,350 crore.

"Talks are on with Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BHEL) for boilers, turbines, generators, control room, main power block construction and commission work including civil work on a single contract turn-key basis," a government source told Business Standard.

"Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has discussed the issue with the company official yesterday," said the source, adding, "only the state cabinet nod is awaited."
