The Supreme Court today gave a week’s time to B Rama Raju and four others accused in the Satyam scam, to answer why their bail should not be cancelled.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court had granted bail to Rama Raju, brother of Ramalinga Raju, former Satyam CFO V Srinivas and three other employees, G Ramakrishna, Venkatapathi Raju and Srisailam. They were arrested last year in the country’s largest corporate fraud.
The Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Dalveer Bhandari issued notices to the accused persons on a petition moved by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Solicitor general Gopal Subramaniam, appearing for CBI, expressed apprehension that the accused might tamper with evidence.
