Customers of Bharti Tele-Services will be able to use a seamless mobile service while on roaming in the Asia-Pacific region from today, the company said today.

Bharti Tele-Services, which sells its services under the Airtel brand, is a member of Asia's largest mobile alliance "" Bridge Mobile.

Its customers can now avail of the benefits of bridge roaming, bridge prepaid, bridge enterprise and bridge concierge services in seven international markets on the alliance members' network.

These services have been launched simultaneously in eight countries and 64 million mobile users in Asia-Pacific will benefit from them, the company said.

The facility will replicate the familiarity of the customers' home experience, by enabling them to access the same short codes for calling customer service or accessing voice mail.

"It also allows prepaid customers to top-up their accounts overseas at designated bridge mobile alliance member counters using local currency. Besides, Airtel customers will also be able to use the top-up service for prepaid accounts on behalf of a friend or relative back home," the company said in a release.

The service also includes SIM card and handset replacement, special purchase promotions and free call-home support to the home operator customer service lines at selected locations, the release said.
