Thirty-four constituencies will go to polls on September 16 in the second phase of elections to the 87-member assembly.
The constituencies going to polls in the second phase are Tral, Pampore, Pulwama, Rajpora, Wachi and Shopian (in Pulwama district), Noorabad, Kulgam, Homeshalibugh, Anantnag, Devsar, Doru, Kokenag, Shangus, Bijbehara, Pahalgam (in Anantnag district), Bani, Basolhi, Kathua, Bilawar and Hiranagar (in Kathua district), Samba, Vijaypur, Nagrota, Gandhinagar, Jammu East, Jammu West, Bishnah, R S Pura, Suchetgarh, Marth, Rajpur Domana, Akhnoor and Chhamb (in Jammu district. The last date for filing nominations for the second phase
of polling is August 30, followed by scrutiny the next day. Withdrawal of candidatures is fixed for September 2.
In the first phase of election on September 7, 26 assembly constituencies will go to the polls.
The third phase covering 21 constituencies and the fourth covering 6, are scheduled for September 21 and September 30, respectively.
