Seminar on green building kicks off

Green buildings will have a business potential of Rs 2,000 crore per year by 2010, according to S Raghupathy, senior director and head, CII - Godrej Green Business Centre (GBC).

Speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day seminar on 'Green Building Materials and Equipment' organised by CII - Godrej GBC, in Hyderabad on Thursday, Raghupathy said that since 80 per cent of building costs goes towards building materials and equipment, it is vital to address issues in this regard.

"The business opportunity for green materials will be Rs 1,600 crore per year from 2010 and CII - Godrej GBC will facilitate in developing 50 green products by 2006," he said, according to a release.
