Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has decided to convene a three-day special session of the legislature to discuss the alleged scams that took place during the last 10 years.
Earlier, opposition Congress and JD(S) had leveled various charges of corruption against the government and had asked for the resignation of chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.
The chief minister, in response to these allegations, said that he would not respond to any of these allegations leveled by the opposition in recent times.
“In recent days, Congress and JD(S) leaders have leveled baseless allegations against our government. So, there would be a session that would have detailed discussions on illegal scandals that is said to have happened in the ten years,” B S Yeddyurappa, chief minister of Karnataka said.
In the special session, the Opposition is free to bring up any issue, while the Government would come out with its own, he added.
Instead of leveling allegations on the “roads and streets”, the opposition should discuss the issues on the floor of the house with documents, Yeddyurappa also said.

Former Prime Minister H D Devegowda, senior leaders from various political parties, religious leaders and intellectuals would be invited to witness the session which would be telecast live.
In the meantime, The Congress has sought the dismissal of the state government, accusing chief minister and minister Katta Subramanya Naidu with direct involvement in alleged land scams.
A delegation of Congress leaders, led by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President R V Deshpande met the governor and pressed for the sacking of BJP government.
“It is a clear case of nepotism, favouritism and misuse of power. We have requested the Governor to dismiss the government,” Siddaramaiah, leader of opposition, said.
However, Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology Katta Subramanya Naidu had refused to resign saying that the allegations were baseless and were a part of political conspiracy.
Naidu's son Katta Jagadish, a city councillor, was arrested last week for allegedly bribing a witness connected to the investigation by Lokayukta into the alleged Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) compensation scam, and is currently lodged in a jail.
As per allegation of opposition, there are irregularities in giving compensation for land surrounding Devanahalli area, which are being developed by KIADB for industrial development.
Allegedly, there was an illegal payment of Rs 106.89 crore towards compensation to lands acquired by the KIADB.
