Seven suspected cases of swine flu were detected today at the Chest Hospital here, a top doctor said.
Seven persons have been quarantined and kept under observation. Their nasal and throat swabs have been sent to National Institute of Communicable Disease (NICD), New Delhi, Superintendent of Chest Hospital Dr S V Prasad told PTI here.
Of the seven suspects, one is a four-and-a-half year old child and other a teenager of 16 years, rest all are in the age group of 22-33 years, he said.
Most of them are either software professionals or students with five of them have arriving from the United States. One person came from Austria and one from New Mexico, he said.
On the two patients who tested positive for the H1N1 influenza virus, Prasad said their condition was stable and satisfactory.
In all nine patients detected with swine flu symptoms are admitted at the Chest Hospital, he said.
