Smaller parties keep the suspense over strategy

Nagaland People's Front's lone MP Wangyuk Konyak said his party would take a decision after Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio arrives in Delhi tomorrow.     

Asked about the coalition government in Nagaland, which has both BJP and NCP as partners, he said that was a local arrangement and had nothing to do at the national level. "We are neither with the UPA nor with the NDA," he said.     

Mizo National Front MP Vanlalzawma said his party would take a decision on confidence motion "within a day or two".     

"MNF executive headed by Chief Minister Zoramthanga is scheduled to meet in Aizwal today. They will take a decision and convey to me. I will follow it in Parliament," he said.
     
Asked about the Indo-US nuclear deal, Vanlalzawma said he personally supported the deal as he felt that it was good for the country and solve the energy problem to a great extent. "But I will abide by my party's decision," he said.     

Congress is the principal opposition party in both Nagaland and Mizoram. Besides, the UPA government had dismissed the Rio government just ahead of the last March assembly elections.     

Independent MP from Ladakh Thupstan Chhewang said he would take a decision on the confidence motion in Lok Sabha at an "appropriate time".
