Dharwad-based NGO Samaj Parivarthan Samudaya (SPS) would be filing a review petition in the Supreme Court shortly. The move to file the review petition comes after the Supreme Court rejected SPS' plea for a direction to conduct CBI inquiry into the illegalities conducted by several mines in Categories A, B and C.

S R Hiremath, founder of SPS told reporters, here on Tuesday that a review petition would be filed before the forest bench very soon as directed by the Apex Court.

He said, the Forest Bench which had given an 81-page final judgment in Phase 1 of the PIL filed by the SPS dated April 18, 2013, dismissed the 'Application for Direction' on August 26. However, the three-judge bench headed by A K Patnayak has asked the SPS to file a review petition.
