Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi are all set to campaign for party candidates in eastern Uttar Pradesh, which goes to Lok Sabha polls in the first phase.
While Rahul Gandhi would campaign for the party candidates in Maharajganj, Kushinagar and Robertsganj on April three, party president Sonia Gandhi will be addressing election rallies at Basgaon, Salempur and Varanasi constituencies on April five, party sources said here.
Rahul and Sonia are expected to file their nomination papers from Amethi and Raebareli constituencies on April 4 and April 6 respectively, they said.
Union Minister of state for small and medium industries Mahavir Prasad is contesting from Basgaon seat while Congress working Committee member and senior party leader Bhola Pandey is in the fray from Salempur seat.
From Varanasi, sitting MP Rajesh Mishra will be testing his fortunes.
Ramadhar Joseph, Harshvardhan and RPN Singh are contesting from Robertsganj, Maharajganj and Kushinagar seats respectively, they said.
