After the Congress and BJP, the SP and BSP have taken the hi-tech route to electioneering by reaching out to voters and party workers through e-mails and SMSes.
While these means of reaching out to the electorate are new to them, both parties said they will try to make the best use of them.
Kamlesh Pandey, who is looking after the election portfolio of BSP nominee from Lucknow Akhilesh Das Gupta, said "the SMS campaign of the party will be launched soon. We are studying all aspects to ensure that we do not violate the model code of conduct."
"Emails are being sent by party workers and Internet is being used to connect the workers with the party and leaders," he said.
Giving an insight into the SP's hi-tech polls strategy, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said, "candidates are using hi-tech means to connect to voters in urban areas."
