Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal today disrupted Question Hour in Rajya Sabha over non-implementation of Ranganath Misra Commission report on minority welfare, leading to adjournment of the House till noon.
Soon after Chairman Hamid Ansari read out a message on the International Women's Day, SP and RJD members were on their feet demanding discussion on why the Commission report recommending reservation to minorities, was not being implemented.
Ansari said they could raise the issue during Zero Hour and pleaded with them to allow Question Hour to proceed.
SP and RJD members were, however, unrelenting and continued shouting slogans seeking implementation of the report. They then moved towards the well of the House.
Amid din, Ansari adjourned the House till noon.
