Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Managing Director E Sreedharan today decided that all cantilever structures built by Delhi Metro in Phase-II of the project so far would be re-checked from safety and quality point of view by independent experts. A firm has already been appointed for this purpose.
Apart from checking cantilever structures, they would also check other pillars or civil structures as specified by the DMRC.
The DMRC also plans to appoint former National Aluminium Company general manager BP Singh, an expert on erection of heavy structures, to inquire into yesterday’s mishap.
