Tourist traffic has been badly hit in the famous Jim Corbett National Park, thanks to an indefinite strike by the employees there. |
The strike, which began last week following a tiff between officials and taxi drivers, has angered the park administration employees, who are now not allowing tourist vehicles to visit the area. |
|
"For the last two days, tourists are unable to visit the Corbett Park," an official said. All the main entry point to Corbett Park, which is one of the main tourist attractions in Uttaranchal, have been closed. |
|
Nearly 1,000 tourists visit Jim Corbett Park everyday. As the deadlock over the strike is persisting, the park officials apprehend that the closure of the park ahead of its monsoon shutdown would adversely affect the tourist traffic. |

India's first national park, Corbett is one of the finest habitats of the tiger in India nestling in the foothill of Himalayas in Kumaon region. |

Spread over 520 Sq km, Corbett has recorded nearly 50 mammals and reptile species. |
