Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, state Congress president D Srinivas, and party MPs from Telangana will be in Delhi on Wednesday, a day before the disclosure of the contents of the Srikrishna committee report by Union home minister P Chidambaram.
Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee is expected to hold a meeting with the party MPs from Telangana, who earlier threatened they would resign if the Centre doesn’t decide in favour of a separate Telangana state.
Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party legislator from Nizamabad district Pocharam Srinivas Reddy resigned from the party. He said he was dissatisfied with the TDP’s stand on Telangana. Reddy is likely to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which is spearheading the movement for bifurcation of the state.
