Economic Affairs Secretary Duvvuri Subbarao today assumed charge as Finance Secretary. The Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer had been appointed Economic Affairs Secretary on May 1 this year. The post of the Finance Secretary is seen as the 'first among equals' of the five secretaries in the Ministry of Finance.
