Supplementary Budget size at Rs 4,725 cr

The Orissa government on Monday unveiled Rs 4,724.62 crore additional expenditure plan under the Supplementary Budget for 2011-12.

The provision is 62.54 per cent higher than Rs 2,906.70 crore announced in the Supplementary Budget of last fiscal.

This fiscal's Supplementary Budget includes Non-Plan expenditure of Rs 2,377.81 crore with the remaining being Plan expenditure. Within the Plan expenditure, State Plan size has been pegged at Rs 1,801.26 crore, Central Plan at Rs 127.03 crore and Centrally Sponsored Plan at Rs 418.52 crore. The Supplementary Budget has allocated Rs 150 crore for conversion of short-term loans into medium-term loans for farmers affected by drought and unseasonal rains, Rs 70 crore for Mamata scheme meant for pregnant women, state share of Rs 26 crore for National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Rs 5 crore for setting up of police stations in Naxal hit districts, Rs 100 crore for house construction in anganwadi centres and state share of Rs 23 crore under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY).
