In an interview, Kesri, who recenty took over as provisional president of the party said, I will make sincere efforts for the return of the true Congressmen. But he made it clear that the doors of the party would not be open for all those who have quit the party.
I will myself go and plead with those whose return will strengthen the party but avoid those whose actions will weaken the Congress.
Kesri denied that he was following the policies of his predecessor P V Narasimha Rao. Like Rao, he too would pursue the policies laid down by the party.
