Set up in 1972, the survey would help the creation of the first ever databank on the units there. AIADA has engaged Pushpak Computers Limited, DPS Computers and a chartered accountancy firm to conduct the survey. |
There was little data or information on the condition of the industrial area, its requirements and the availability of plots at present. "The survey would cover the entire area," said AIADA managing director Vandana Dadel. |
The survey questionnaire will cover 27 points, includes details on turnover, products, number of employees and shifts, investment, value of excise and sales tax, exports if any and the status of the units. Moreover, the survey would yield information on employment profile in the region. |
It would help the government and development agencies understand training requirements, infrastructure needs, waste treatment requirements and laboratory facilities. |
"There are some basic objectives for conducting the industrial survey. Today we don't have any authentic data available for potential investors. For the marketing of the industrial area we require to provide information to the outsiders. Secondly, considering the scarcity of land we have come across many unconfirmed reports about plots of closed units being let out on rent without our knowledge or permission," Dalel said. |
