A survey on senior citizens in urban areas may throw up some suggestions on the ways to tackle the problems of the elderly. A majority of senior citizens want to work beyond retirement age, the survey, conducted by Antara, a Max group company, and Access Media International, a consulting and publishing firm.

The survey, conducted across urban India and specifically in the North (Delhi-NCR), West (Mumbai & Pune), and South (Chennai, Bengaluru & Hyderabad), also breaks many myths about the way senior citizens spend their money. Seniors are taken as those who are aged at least 55 years.
