Sushma Swaraj, deputy leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, today said a group of Members of Parliament belonging to her party — Bharatiya Janata Party — would be specially trained to speak on economic issues, including the ongoing World Trade Organization (WTO) talks. “It is better to specialise in subjects of national and international importance like the environment, national security and WTO talks than to indulge in petty politicking,” she told the young leaders who were felicitated at a function organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
Her remarks come amid the apparent sidelining of veteran leaders like Jaswant Singh and Yashwant Sinha as key speakers on economic issues on behalf of the party.
