52-year-old city-based businessman became first victim of swine flu in Saurashtra region today taking the death toll in Gujarat to seven, officials said. Rajesh Bhagvanji Undhad, a resident of Nilkanth Park area on Kothariya road, died in N M Virani Wockhardt hospital early this morning, hospital PRO Ravi Hirwani said. Undhad first underwent treatment at a private clinic before being admitted in Wockhardt on August 20, hospital sources said.
He was also a diabetic which created complications and made it difficult for him to recover, one of the doctors attending on him said. Out of the 21 swab samples sent for tests from Rajkot, seven tested positive for the H1N1 virus, Resident Medical Officer of Civil Hospital, G N Makwana said.
