Private retail trade sources said that the move by the government would force them to down shutters by the end of November itself, resulting in losses running into lakhs of rupees.
The state government in a release said that despite ensuring wholesale trade through TASMAC, private retailers have been indulging in malpractices in sale of IMFL.
There have also been violations of maximum retail price by private retailers, the official release said.
