TC-Cong combine leading in seven of ten seats

The Trinamool Congress and Congress combine is leading in seven out of the ten assembly seats where by-polls were held.

According to reports available from different counting centres, the ruling Left Front is leading in two seats and an Independent in one constituency as counting was taken up at 8 am.

Sujit Basu of Trinamool Congress is leading by 4000 votes over his nearest CPI(M) rival Ramala Chakrabarty, widow of former Transport Minister, Subhas Chakrabarty in East Belgachia seat after the second round of counting.

While TC nominee Bobby Hakim is ahead of his CPIM rival in Alipur seat by over 10,000 votes, former minister Prabodh Sinha of DSP is leading in Egra after second round of counting.

A M Rappani of Congress and Dibyendu Adhikari of Trinamool Congress are leading in Goalpokhar and Contai seats respectively.
