The combined market capitalisation of eight of the country's top-10 firms grew by Rs 46,812.46 crore during last week, with IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) emerging as the top gainer.
With an addition of Rs 12,731.59 crore to its valuation, TCS was the show-stealer, with its market capitalisation (m-cap) at Rs 2,23,199.09 crore at Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday.
During the week, shares of the company had surged 6 per cent to close at Rs 1,140.40 at the end of Thursday's session on BSE.
Reliance Industries was another major gainer in the elite club of the top-10 best performing companies; its m-cap rose by Rs 10,505 crore to Rs 3,45,522.16 crore.
Similarly, state-run ONGC's market worth also advanced to Rs 2,84,277.21 crore after the company added Rs 1,668.32 crore to its kitty.
Coal India's market valuation also swelled by Rs 2,652.87 crore to Rs 2,02,691.99 crore.

Public sector lender SBI gained Rs 1,606.52 crore to its total valuation at Rs 1,75,374.71 crore during the week.
On the other hand, ICICI Bank witnessed an erosion of Rs 1,516.16 crore from its m-cap, which stood at Rs 1,26,827.75 crore.
However, IT blue-chip Infosys Technologies edged up by Rs 8,309.23 crore to Rs 1,88,991.19 crore.
Power major NTPC's m-cap too went up to Rs 1,63,012.74 crore, after an addition of Rs 4,535 crore to its valuation, while telecom player Bharti Airtel gained Rs 4,803.86 crore to Rs 1,30,463.8 crore.
FMCG honcho ITC lost Rs 1,616.76 crore from its m-cap, which was at Rs 1,29,303 crore as on Thursday. Meanwhile, the BSE 30-share index Sensex in the last trading session rose by 1.82 per cent to settle at 19,864.85 points.
