Tdsat Reserves Judgment On Switching Issue

The Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today reserved its judgment on the issue of allowing basic operators to use mobile switching centres for offering wireless-in-local-loop (WLL) limited mobility services.

The tribunal, which concluded its hearings today, asked all the parties to give written submissions of their arguments.

Cellular operators had gone to court demanding that basic operators be restricted to the V5.2 platform, which would limit the scope of their WLL services to those listed in their licence agreements.
