Teg Resorts to invest Rs 6.5 cr in holiday home

Amritsar-based Teg Resorts Private Ltd is coming up with a state-of-the-art resort near Rajewala on the outskirts of Amritsar, barely 11.5 km away, with an initial investment of Rs 6.5 crore.

The resort is a mega project sanctioned by the Punjab government. Once it is operational, the resort will have pubs and bars, a country club (with a heated swimming pool, an indoor badminton and squash court, a lawn tennis court, five holy golf putting courses, a cycling, jogging and biking track), a 70-room hotel, and an auto workshop.

The company is a member of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is planning to go public in 2010.

Managing Director Ram Singh said he had travelled around the world in order to get information to put up this resort.

Spread over 10.5 acres, the resort will boast of all kinds of ambience under one roof. According to Singh, once fully operational, this will be first of its kind project in the state. "The Resort will have a pub and bar, 5 hole golf putting course, a 70-room hotel and indoor badminton and squash court. There will be a half-Olympic sized heated swimming pool also in addition to lawn tennis grass court," Singh added. He said the Resort would also have full-fledged scientifically researched ergohomic designed spa and Gymnasium.

Besides it would cater to the needs of readers by setting up a library with full-fledged Internet facility.

The resort would also have power back up system with generators having capacity of 200 KW, which will be further, upgraded to 500 KW.
