As many as 10 companies, including wind power major Suzlon, have bid for Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation’s proposed 200-Mw wind power project in Gujarat.
“We have received bids from 10 players by yesterday, which was the deadline for submission of the bids,” GSPC Managing Director J Pandian said.
Companies in the bidders list include Suzlon, Danish company Vestas, French companies Theolia, Globalwind, Abellon and German company Enarcon, Pandian said adding that private players had shown a good response.
GSPC is diversifying and getting into wind power projects to be set up in the state with the location to be decided by the selected bidder. According to Pandian, GSPC wants the project to be commissioned in the six months from the date of awarding the final contract. The private company, which will be awarded the contract, will commission and develop the project and operate it for 10 years.
