Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said today that he will ask Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to review the annual funds given to states for power generation, particularly those states that have not added capacity in the last few years. This has to be taken up by the Planning Commission while reviewing the annual plan for states.Meanwhile, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of Planning Commission, said AT&C losses in the power sector will be brought down from 40% to 25% by end of the 11th Plan (2007-2012).
