Trade fair focus on real estate

India International Mega Trade Fair- 2004 (IIMTF-2004) is expected to generate a business of Rs 500-1,000 crore, claimed its organisers.
 
IIMTF 2004 is jointly promoted by Bharat Chamber of Commerce and Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India-Bengal (CREDAI-Bengal), an apex association of the builders in Kolkata.
 
It will open on September 10 in the city. Claiming it was the largest trade fair the city has ever witnessed, N R Goenka, president of BCC, said, "The main objective is to change the perception of domestic and international investors about the city and the state".
 
The footfall is expected to be around 25,000 per day. Half of the money collected as entry fee, at the rate of Rs 5 per ticket, will be contributed to the chief minister's relief fund.
 
The fair will have around 400 participants including those from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey and Kenya. The participants have been accommodated in six air-conditioned hangers.
 
The state's buoyant real estate sector will be on show at 94 stalls with more than Rs 3000 crore worth of property on offer.
 
Real estate developers, housing finance companies, building and allied industries, electronic items, food , fitness and health enterprises will be participating.
 
Financial institution and builders would offer special packages like loan cheque clearance within a day, said CREDAI officials.
