Trai Chairman R S Sharma said the regulator will state its position on free data by month-end but he did not specify if it will be in the form of recommendations or something else.
Trai in May this year had come out with a consultation paper to explore models for providing free data to consumers without violating the concept of net neutrality. The stakeholders have already submitted their comments on the same.
On a query about consultation paper on net neutrality, Sharma said the regulator will try to release it by the end of this month.
Trai came out with pre-consultation paper on the subject in May and the last date to send comments was July 5.
