About Rs 60,000 crore of road projects are stuck due to delays in land acquisition.
"We discussed the Act with states and after I have considered their suggestions. I will take those to the prime minister. We will go by his decision," Gadkari said in an interview to CNBC-TV18.

Gadkari said they would come to a conclusion the changes in 20 days before the parliamentary session as this was an issue that related to the future development of the country. He said projects were stuck in disputes at the Supreme Court and high courts.
"In a month my target is to find an equilibrium. We don't want to destroy contractors and construction of roads should happen as early as possible."
He added his ministry had solved problems for the road projects of Rs 20,000 crore already.
The ministry has set a target of awarding 7,000-km road projects during 2014-15, under build, own and operate and engineering, procurement and construction models.
