The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (UHBVN) have made a comprehensive plan to further strengthen the transmission and distribution system of district Jind under which a sum of Rs 65 crore would be spent during the next 12 to 18 months.
A spokesman said here today that construction of a 132 KV sub station at Alewa and 33 KV sub stations at village Pipaltha, Kakrod, Manoharpur, Samro and Songri Guliyana has been approved.
The existing capacity of 220 KV sub station Jind and 132 KV sub stations at Narwana (old), Naguran and Dhanauri would be augmented.
The Nigam has targeted to release 2,150 new tubewell and 6,000 domestic,non domestic, industrial and public water works connections.
It has been planned to add 718 new distribution transformers of 25,63,100 and 200 KVA in the systen.
The Nigam would erect six new independent 11 KV feeders exclusively for Community Health Centres in order to ensure maximum power supply.

The spokesman further state that implementation of high voltage distribution system and low voltage distribution system would be completed in thirteen villages and two urban colonies to avoid overloading, minimise accidents and ensuring fault free service. The work has already been completed in thirty seven villages and sixteen urban colonies of the district.
He said that the Nigam had started segregation of 74 feeders supplying power to domestic and tubewell consumers of rural areas at a cost of Rs. 14.87 crore.
More than half of the work has been completed and it was in progress on the remaining feeders. The Nigam has also planned to replace 1,100 km worn out or undersize conductor during the current year.
