Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is set to come up with its data centre soon at Manesar in Haryana.
According to an official spokesman, the “Green Data Centre” would be built in line with global standards and would have several innovations. The data centre would serve as a central repository for UIDAI to store the residents’ basic demographic and biometric information captured by it, while issuing the 12-digit Aadhaar number to each resident across the country.
The Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, would lay the foundation stone of this data centre tomorrow.
The spokesman added to ascertain uninterrupted operations of the data centre, modular and scalable systems are designed that would provide seamless integration to support future load expansion up to 1.6 billion enrolments estimated by the year 2030.
