Tension gripped the Kalinganagar Industrial Complex, the emerging steel hub in Jajpur district, on Saturday when the activists of the Visthapan Virodhi Jana Mancha (VVJM), the organization at the forefront of agitation against Tata Steel's project, clashed with the supporters of the project.
The clash broke out at Kalamatia within the project site when around 15 VVJM activists armed with traditional weapons opposed the land leveling work of Tata Steel. The situation was brought under control after police forces rushed to the area. Following the arrival of the police forces, the VVJM activists fled from the site.
