World organisation United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) warned that global education was deteriorating due to the aftershocks of the global financial crisis.

The warning was made yesterday, on the occasion of the 2010 version of the 'Education for All Global Monitoring Report' due to be released on January 19.

Millions of children are still missing out their road to education in poor nations, it alarmed.

The report reviews progress made in Education for All in view of all goals, mainly focusing on the education of the poor.

The report looks into why those children are being left behind, and considers the cost of Education for All, which is much higher than earlier estimates.

Kevin Watkins, the director of the report, said they were about to honor their promise to provide education for all by 2015.
