A United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) official was killed and two others were injured today in an attack by unidentified gunmen in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar.
The gunmen opened fire at the UNHCR office in the Kacha Garhi relief camp in Peshawar, killing the official and injuring two others, including a security guard.
One report said the UNHCR official was killed while resisting an attempt to kidnap him.
The Kacha Garhi camp houses people who fled the restive Bajaur tribal region after the Pakistan Army launched an operation there against the Taliban.
