As more political forces rallied with it, the UNPA today started deliberations about the possible future political formations. Uttar Pradesh chief Minister Mayawati and the four Left parties also held discussions with the UNPA but all agreed to currently keep the focus only on the fall of the UPA government.
In the meeting, many leaders including Mayawati expressed confidence that the UPA government would not be able to survive the trust vote. It has been decided that all these parties will meet at Mayawati's place on the morning of 23 July.
While many of the leaders like TDP's Chandrababu Naidu and CPI's A B Bardhan had publicly supported Mayawati's candidature as a prime minister, in today's meeting however, the Left parties didn't allow the issue to be raised.
"No discussion to project Mayawati as the prime minister candidate took place," said a source. Mayawati too, said after the meeting: "we have decided on a single point programme
