UP Congress unimpressed

Elevation of the Amethi MP as the general secretary of the AICC and in-charge of the NSUI failed to evoke any euphoria at the UP Congress Committee headquarters here today.

The Congress workers in Amethi, however, celebrated the news by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.

Several hours after the news broke, the UP Congress headquarters here failed to organise the traditional dance and fireworks programme.

"The removal of Salman Khurshid as UPCC president on the same day is a major reason ...the UPCC managers are in New Delhi welcoming the new president," explained a senior leader.
