The government owned and co-operative sugar mills have been instructed to pay their outstanding dues to sugarcane growers by August 31 as the budgetary allocation of Rs 200 crore have been made in the current budget of Uttar Pradesh.The minister for PWD, Irrigation and Sugarcane Development Nasimuddin Siddiqui said here in a press conference today. He said the Sathiyaon Sugar Mill in Azamgarh and Rasra Sugar Mill in Ballia have been provided Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh to clear farmers dues.He said the government is all set to check the sugarcane mafia so that the farmers would get the real benefit.Addressing the press, Siddiqui said the quality check was also being made on the roads and other projects constructed which have not maintained standard quality.
