US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi has presented on the floor a memorial of the resolution passed by the Michigan House of Representatives of Michigan condemning the Mumbai terrorist attack.

The memorial has been sent to the House Committee on Financial Services. Nancy presented it to the House yesterday.

The Michigan House of Representatives had unanimously passed a resolution on April 1 expressing support for the people of India following the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Sponsored by Marty Knollenberg, the resolution called on President Barack Obama and the US Congress to work with Indian authorities in both humanitarian and strategic capacities.

"This legislation shows our solidarity and sympathy to the Indian people and the Indian-American people, and to urge President Obama and Congress to do all they can to provide assistance," Knollenberg said.

"No nation is immune to the threat from terrorism, and it will take innovation and coordination among peace-loving nations to protect our borders and stop terrorism," the Michigan lawmaker said after the resolution was passed.
