Usha Academy plans 7 centres in East

Usha Martin Academy promoted by the Usha Martin group, is looking at coming up with seven more centres in and around the eastern region by April, 2009.

On the sidelines of an interactive session, Saugata Banerjee, executive director of Usha Martin Academy said, "We are looking at growing to a total of ten centres, by setting up seven more centres, in addition to the existing three centres by April next year." However the tentative investment was not divulged 'as the process is ongoing', added Banerjee.

This apart, the academy also launched its centre of telecom training, announcing two diploma courses in Advanced Telecom Technology and Telecom business solutions, the first of its kind in the eastern region.

Both the courses will commence from November with fees of Rs 70,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively.

The classes will be held in the existing centres of the academy located in Southern Avenue and Salt Lake and Ranchi, with strength of 30 each.

The course on advancd telecom technology will entail areas of GSM, GPRS, 3G, WIMAX, IPTV etc while the course dealing with telecom business solutions will cover courses on customer relationship management(CRM), revenue management, product management, billing etc. UshaComm will act as the knowledge partner.

"The telecommunication industry is experiencing major growth and with the increase in the number of subscribers and with the drop of handset prices, while on the other hand with the increase in the types of services, manpower is required to support it.

So our courses will provide a platform for the students and people interested in this field, at the same time trying to meet the demand of manpower.We are already in talks with some of the telecom service providers and clients of UshaComm for placements", further added Banerjee.
