Uttaranchal in pact for new industrial estate

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttaranchal Ltd (SIDCUL) and Purshotam Industrial Estate (P) Ltd has been signed for setting up a private industrial estate at Roorkee in the Hardwar district.
 
Purshotam Industrial Estate will set up the estate over 60 acres of land for setting up of industries by individuals and corporates.
 
SIDCUL will act as a facilitator in the proposed industrial estate development project, which will be set up on the "build, own and operate" basis.
 
SIDCUL would have 11 per cent equity in the new estate, Industrial Development Secretary Sanjiv Chopra told Business Standard .
 
This will be the fourth private industrial estate in the state. Other private industrial estate were being set up by Moolchand in Bajpur, Pradip Dutta and Associates in Bhawanpur and Sara Services in Selaqui, Chopra said.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister ND Tiwari invited industries to set up units in Uttaranchal.
 
"We have to industrialise keeping pace with modernisation. Private industrial areas must keep in harmony and be selective in setting up best of industries in it," Tiwari said.
 
Expressing concern over growth of unemployment, he said job-oriented industries that provided equal employment opportunities to women were need of the hour.
 
"Unemployment rises with increase in population. We have to industrialise to check unemployment," he said.
