In fresh trouble for Varun Gandhi, an inquiry conducted by the district administration has found that the BJP Lok Sabha candidate had given money to some people in a village here in violation of the model code of conduct, a Sub Divisional Magistrate today said.
The inquiry was conducted by naib tehsildar Janki Prasad, which found that the BJP nominee from here had extended financial assistance to at least two persons on March four, Sub-Divisional Magistrate M A Akhtar said.
The district administration officials said that earlier a complaint was received that Varun during his visit to Bisalpur allegedly distributed money among people. It was alleged that while Rs 10,000 was given to kin of a vendor killed a few days back, Rs 5,000 help was extended to few others.
Following complaint, District Magistrate M P Agarwal had ordered an inquiry into the allegation.
Akhtar also visited the area yestersday and took the statements of the people in connection with the complaint.
Varun is already under fire for his alleged anti-Muslim speeches at a rally here recently.
