BJP leader Varun Gandhi on Wednesday moved the Supreme Court challenging the Uttar Pradesh government’s decision to slap the National Security Act (NSA) against him for alleged hate speeches in Pilibhit. “We have filed a petition in the apex court for quashing of the NSA order,” Varun’s counsel Sandeep Kapoor said. The counsel said it had been urged that during the pendency of the writ petition, the 29-year leader should be released from jail as the procedure for invoking the NSA was not duly followed by the UP government.
