Labour minister Sahib Singh Verma today said he would stick to the 9.5 per cent return for depositors in the employees provident fund at the meeting of the central board of trustees.
Verma told reporters after the meeting that he would approach the Cabinet to ensure there is no curtailment of benefits for employees.
Though the central board of trustees had already decided on these lines at its last meeting in May, Verma today made a suo motu statement at the beginning of the meeting to send out a pro-labour message.
