The decision comes in wake of the immense manpower shortage due to the higher industrial growth in the industrial estate located in Vallabh Vidhyanagar near milktown Anand.
"The syllabus for the new ITI would be framed as per requirements of the industries. Besides, new courses will also be developed for future requirements," said Jayantibhai Patel, chairman, Vitthal Udhyognagar industries association to ==Business Standard==.
Sources say local biggies such as Elecon Engineering have already made donations for the project.
"At present, we have over 9,000 square feet of land in GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation) for the institution. Besides donation, Elecon will provide resource persons also. The process of the rough idea of the new ITI is in the advanced stage," Patel added.
The association has already signed an agreement with Birla Vishwkarma Mahavidhyalaya, GH Patel college of enggineering and technology and Changa University to provide training to the students of the institutions as well as for product development, R&D and design analysis.

According to Patel, the association was also investing in upgrading the infrastructure of the estate.
"Work on storm water drainage is going on, besides the main roads of the GIDC to be expanded and the arrangement for service duct has been made. The Gujarat urja vikas nigam to lay underground cable and to set up new substation in the GIDC. Civil work worth Rs 5.46 crore has been approved under the critical infrastructure development project," he said.
